Jennifer Jackel, Principal Podiatrist of SoleFit Podiatry, joined the BOSM team in April 2016. Jen is a dual AHPRA registered health care professional holding the qualifications of a Master of Podiatry / Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Nursing. She practices both as a Podiatrist in the private sector and as a Perioperative Nurse at Bendigo Health which enables a vast insight into a patient’s healthcare journey and requirements.

After nursing for over 15 years, and with a young family, Jen decided to pursue her podiatry interest and returned to study a Master of Podiatry at La Trobe University, Bendigo in 2012. She graduated dux of the course across both regional and metro campuses and was award the Australian Podiatry Association (Vic) award for academic and clinical excellence. Jen is especially proud of her success with her regional based studies and is dedicated to helping regional clients in her practice.

Jen works closely with other practitioners within the BOSM clinic for enhanced outcomes. Her passions include biomechanics of the lower limb and therapies to relieve tissue stress (acute and chronic injuries) enabling clients to remain active or return to their activities. Jen is also member of professional bodies including the Australian Podiatry Association (APodA) and Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia (SEPA).

Podiatry services offered by Jen are extensive and include, but are not limited to, general foot and nail care, nail surgery, diabetes neurovascular assessments, assessment and management of foot pain, dry needling, biomechanical assessments and provision of custom and semi-custom 3D printed foot orthoses.

Outside of work, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and their two dogs. She also is an avid fan of Women’s AFL and supports local girls and women’s football, including volunteering as a medic.
